Unborn
I don't want to die; Evidently I'm not welcome But I don't know the reason why. I must have been conceived in love Else how did I get my start, And begin to grow my body And a little beating heart? Though you might not love my daddy You must surely love me now, As I develop deep inside you With a brain inside my brow. My little toes and fingers Developed really fast; To be ready to grasp your finger When I am born at last. My feet and legs nudge you To remind you I'm in here, Just little bumps and nudges Encouraging you to care. My eyes can't wait to see you, And we will fall in love, Me and my precious mommy, Given each other by God above. I'll try not to cause you trouble, Bring heartaches, trials and strife; If I can choose, I want to live And bring joy and love into your life. So, mommy, please don't let them kill me For I don't want to die; But to live and get to know you And hug you when you cry. God gave His Son to Mary From Heaven up above, And if you will keep me, mommy, We too will show His love. |
