Why I Love You
that lights my path each day, For Your moon that shines at night in the heavens far away. Your twinkling stars that fill the sky are breathtaking to see; How You know them all by name is a mystery to me. When I consider all the things Your mighty hand has brought, My mind can't grasp the wonder of the glories You have wrought. Through all Your awesome works of art, You're showing me Your love, From creatures swimming in the seas to those that soar above. I love You for the animals You made for company And lovely birds that sing Your songs ~ in them Your joy I see. The flowers, trees and grasses are marvelous to behold; In thousands of varieties Your majesty unfolds. I love You for these many things You made for me to see, But most of all, dear Father, I love You for loving me. I'm awed that You fashioned me ere I saw the light of morn, And crafted me in Your image while I was yet unborn. Amazed, I think of Calv'ry's cross and how Your love shone through When You died to bring forgiveness and draw me close to You. With falling tears I repent; though I've been blind, now I see: I can't live without You ~ I love You, for You first loved me. |
